Overlay Studio, and a lot more packs
Design your on-screen overlay by clicking the part you want to paint, share a theme with a code, and fire a macro from two buttons held together. Plus 110 new game packs, including keyboard-to-controller presets for 73 games.
Highlights
- Overlay Studio: click a part of the controller and paint it, with 20 presets and share codes that work offline.
- A macro can now be triggered by a button combination, like L1 and R1 held together.
- The Wii Remote shake can be put on a button instead of flicking the controller.
- 110 new packs: keyboard-to-controller presets for 73 games, 27 deep macro sets, and 21 Wii and GameCube packs.
Fixes
- The controller design you make now applies to every controller shown in the app, not just the one on the overlay.
- A lighting effect could stop the emulated controller's own lighting from showing correctly.
OmniControl 2.5.8 is mostly about making the app yours to look at, and giving you far more to start from.
Overlay Studio
The overlay is now something you design rather than configure. Click the part of the controller you want to change and paint it. There are 20 presets to start from, a controller view and a trigger strip, and the design you settle on applies to every controller the app draws, not only the overlay.
Themes share with a code. The code carries the whole design, so it works offline and does not need anyone to be online at the same time as you.
Macros on a button combination
A macro can now fire from two buttons held together, L1 and R1 for instance, instead of taking a button of its own. The combination owns the trigger outright, so a lone press of either button does nothing, and it fires whichever half you press first.
The Wii Remote shake, on a button
Shake gestures in Wii games, the spin in Galaxy or a trick in Mario Kart, no longer need you to flick the controller. Put the shake on a button and press it.
110 new packs
Keyboard-to-controller presets for 73 games, so playing with keyboard and mouse in a controller-only game needs no setup. 27 deep macro sets. 21 Wii and GameCube packs. And packs can now carry shift layers, with layer sets included for 16 games.
