Support
How to get help with OmniControl, from the Discord community and documentation to the troubleshooting guide, FAQ, changelog, and email support.
Getting help
OmniControl is a desktop app, so most questions come down to a specific setup, game, or Windows configuration. The fastest way to a good answer is to share those details with people who have solved the same thing.
Start with the community
The Discord community is the primary support channel. It is where you will find setup help, workarounds, quick answers from other users, and the team. When you post, include:
- Your OmniControl version (shown in the app)
- Your Windows version (10 or 11)
- The controller or input device you are using
- The game or app you are trying to use it with
- What you expected to happen, and what actually happened
Screenshots and short clips help more than long descriptions. The clearer the report, the faster the fix.
Before you ask
A quick checklist that resolves a large share of issues:
- Update to the latest version. Many problems are already fixed in a newer build. Check the changelog for known issues and recent fixes.
- Read the troubleshooting guide. It covers the common failure points: ViGEmBus not installed, a controller not detected, emulation not starting, and games not seeing the virtual controller.
- Restart the app, and reconnect the controller. A surprising number of detection issues clear on a clean start.
- Confirm the game is in scope. OmniControl is built for single-player and controller-friendly games. It is not a tool for defeating anti-cheat, and kernel-anti-cheat competitive shooters are out of scope. We cannot help with those.
Documentation
The documentation is the reference for how each part of the app works: remapping, sticks and triggers, motion, macros, emulation, keyboard and mouse input, the overlay, and per-game profiles. If you are setting something up for the first time, the docs will usually get you there without needing to ask.
FAQ
The FAQ answers the questions that come up most often, including licensing and Pro. Pro is a one-time license key with no subscription. If you have a question about activation, a lost key, or moving your license to a new machine, check the FAQ first, then reach out by email.
For account, licensing, and purchase questions that involve private details, email support@omnicontrol.me. This is the right channel for anything you would not want to post in a public Discord server, such as your license key or order information. Please do not share your key in public channels.
What to expect
OmniControl is a focused desktop product with a small team behind it. Discord is the quickest route for general help, and email is best for anything tied to your account. Include the details above and you will almost always get a faster, more useful answer.
OmniControl is not affiliated with Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo.
