If Windows shows a SmartScreen prompt

OmniControl is made by a small independent developer, so on first run Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen listing an unknown publisher. That is expected for new indie software and does not mean anything is wrong. Click More info, then Run anyway to install. The app is downloaded over HTTPS and updates itself in-app after that.

Up and running in three steps

  1. 01

    Run the installer

    It sets up OmniControl itself. The ViGEmBus driver that emulation needs is one click from inside the app, on the Drivers card.

  2. 02

    Plug in your controller

    OmniControl detects your pad over USB or Bluetooth and shows it as a live 3D model.

  3. 03

    Pick an output and play

    Choose a virtual Xbox 360 or DualShock 4, load a profile, and your game sees a controller it already trusts.
