What OmniControl is

OmniControl is a desktop app for Windows 10 and 11 that gives you real control over your controllers. It remaps buttons, sticks, and triggers, reads motion, records macros, and can present your input to a game as a virtual controller through ViGEmBus. You can drive that virtual pad with a keyboard and mouse when you want to. An on-screen overlay shows what your inputs are doing, and per-game profiles switch your setup automatically as you move between titles.

It runs free, with a paid Pro tier for the full feature set. Pro is a subscription, monthly or yearly, or Pro Lifetime, bought once, and existing Founders Lifetime owners keep their licence. See pricing for current plans.

The idea behind it

The hardware you own should do what you want. A controller is an input device, and there is no good reason a stick curve, a button layout, or a trigger deadzone should be locked to whatever a game decided for you.

Two beliefs shape the whole app:

  • You should have full control over your own controllers.
  • Any pad you own should be able to work in any game you legitimately want to play.

Most of what OmniControl does comes straight from those two ideas. Bring the controller you like, shape it the way that feels right, and let it work everywhere it reasonably can.

Built as real desktop software

OmniControl is a native Windows application, not a browser tab wrapped in a window. That choice matters for input. It means lower latency, direct access to your devices, and behavior that stays predictable while you play. The controller models, the overlay, and the emulation layer are all built for the desktop, because that is where the work actually happens.

The website is a simple static site. The product is the app.

The honest boundary

OmniControl is not a tool for defeating anti-cheat, and it never will be. It contains no evasion, and we will not help anyone get around those systems. That line is not a legal footnote. It is part of how we think about the product.

What it does not do is choose your games for you. The pack catalog includes keyboard-and-mouse packs for online first-person shooters, and a publisher can penalise your account for playing that way. That risk sits with you as the player, so check a game's rules before you play it this way.

OmniControl is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo. Controller and console names are used only to describe compatibility.

Respect for the player

We would rather ship a smaller thing that works than a bigger thing that nags you. No dark patterns, no pressure to upgrade, no features that quietly get worse to sell you the next tier. You configure your controllers, you keep your settings, and the app gets out of your way once it is doing its job.
