Frequently asked questions

The things people ask most. If your question is not here, the docs go deeper.

What is OmniControl, exactly?

A Windows app that sits between your controller and your games. It reads any supported pad, lets you remap and tune every input, and presents a clean virtual Xbox 360 or DualShock 4 to whatever you are playing - so a game that only likes one kind of controller happily accepts yours.

Which controllers does it support?

DualSense and DualSense Edge, DualShock 4 and 3, Xbox Series, One, 360 and Elite Series 2, plus generic HID gamepads. DualSense extras - adaptive triggers, gyro, touchpad and lightbar - are supported over USB. Meta Quest Touch controllers work too, on Quest 3 and Quest 3S over Link or Air Link: the pair arrives as one gamepad, and you switch it on once from the Meta Quest page.

How does keyboard and mouse on a controller game work?

OmniControl builds a virtual controller and drives it from your keyboard and mouse. Mouse movement is converted to aim-stick motion through a model of the game's own curve, and a short calibration lines the feel up to your real mouse. It works on games that keep reading a controller in the background.

Will this get me banned?

OmniControl is built for single-player and controller-friendly games. It is not a tool for defeating anti-cheat, and kernel-anti-cheat competitive shooters are out of scope by design. If a game's rules forbid input remapping, do not use it there.

Is it free?

There is a free tier that covers reading, mapping and tuning your controller. Pro unlocks emulation (virtual Xbox and DualShock 4 output) and the advanced feature set. You can subscribe to Pro monthly and cancel anytime; see the pricing page for the current plans.

How many PCs can I use my licence on?

Three at a time. If you replace a machine or reinstall Windows, remove the old device from your account dashboard and the slot frees immediately - there is no waiting period and no support ticket. Worth knowing: Windows regenerates a machine's identifier when you reset or reinstall it, so the same PC can come back looking like a new one.

What do I need to run it?

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Emulation needs the ViGEmBus driver, which is a separate one-click install from the Drivers card inside OmniControl - the app installer does not include it, so if you ever reset Windows you will need to install it again from there.
