The stream

  • Finds your PS5 or PS4 on your network and wakes it from rest mode.
  • Pairs once, with the PIN your console shows.
  • A native low-latency window with hardware video decoding, game audio, your microphone and controller vibration.
  • Adjusts its quality as your connection changes, and reaches a console you paired at home from another network.
  • Sharpens the picture, or runs super resolution on a supported NVIDIA or Intel GPU.

Your controls

  • Your mouse moves the camera stick. Each aiming preset sets a mouse speed for its game, and you can change it.
  • Held keys ease the sticks and triggers in and out, so you can feather the throttle and brake.
  • Presets for 146 PS5 games, picked from a list in the app and editable bind by bind.
  • Hold Tab to hand the keyboard and mouse back to Windows. Hold it again, or click the picture, to take them back.

Set up in four steps

Each Remote Play preset's page carries setup steps as well, and so does the app when you import a preset from Game Packs.

  1. Turn on Remote Play on your console

    On a PS5, go to Settings, System, Remote Play and turn on Enable Remote Play.

  2. Pair it with OmniControl, once

    Open Remote Play in OmniControl. It finds your console on your network; pair it with the PIN the console shows. Pairing asks for your PlayStation Network account id, which you paste in yourself: how to find it.

  3. Pick your game's preset

    On the Dashboard, turn on Drive a Controller, then click Open Drive a Controller. Under Game presets, pick your game's PS5 Remote Play preset and confirm Use preset.

  4. Connect and play

    Connect from the Remote Play page and start your game. A wired connection to the console helps the stream more than any setting.

Each one is a starting point you can change bind by bind, and any other game can be set up by hand. A few of them:

Grand Theft Auto VI. GTA VI is due on PS5 on 19 November 2026. Its two presets, on foot and Driving, are already in the catalog, carried over from GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, and neither can be checked in the real game until it is out. See the preset

Do I need chiaki-ng or Sony's PS Remote Play app?
No. Remote Play is built into OmniControl, so there is nothing else to install. It finds your console, streams it in its own window and sends it the controller your keyboard and mouse drive.
Is there input lag?
Remote Play streams video, so there is always some delay between your hand and the screen. The stream window is built for low latency, and a wired connection to the console does more for it than any setting. We have not measured the delay end to end, so we do not quote a number.
Which games work?
146 PS5 games have a ready-made preset, and every bind in a preset can be changed. Any other game can be set up by hand on the Drive a Controller page, though we have not tried every game that way.
Is it free?
Downloading OmniControl and browsing presets are free. Playing with keyboard and mouse uses Drive a Controller, which needs Pro: $14.99 a month or $74.99 a year.
Does it work on PS4?
Remote Play connects to a PS4 as well as a PS5. Every preset is made for the PS5 version of its game, and they have not been tested on PS4.
Does OmniControl sign in to my PlayStation account?
No. Pairing needs your PlayStation Network account id, which you paste in yourself. OmniControl never signs in to PlayStation Network on your behalf.
Can I play away from home?
Yes. A console you paired at home can be reached from another network, and the stream adjusts its quality as your connection changes.
Can I get banned?
OmniControl contains no anti-cheat evasion. In online games, a publisher can detect keyboard and mouse played through a virtual controller and penalise your account for it, and that risk sits with you as the player.
Will aiming feel like a PC mouse?
Not exactly. Your mouse drives the controller's camera stick, so the game's own stick handling still applies and the fastest flicks are capped by how fast the game lets a stick turn. Each aiming preset sets a mouse speed you can change, and the stream adds its own delay on top.
Is OmniControl made by Sony?
No. OmniControl is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sony.
