PS5 Remote Play

Find your PlayStation account id

To pair OmniControl with your console, it needs the id of the PlayStation Network account you play on.

No sign-in and no password: the id is looked up from your online ID.

Steps

  1. Open the PSN Account Checker

Open PSNTools' PSN Account Checker in your browser. There is nothing to download and nothing to sign in to.

  2. Search for your online ID

Type the online ID of the PlayStation account you play on, the name your friends see, and search for it.

  3. Copy the Base64 (for Remote Play) value

The results list your account id a few ways. Copy the one labelled Base64 (for Remote Play), the whole thing, including any = at the end.

  4. Paste it into OmniControl

Paste it into the Account id field on OmniControl's Remote Play pairing screen, with no spaces.

The account id is an identifier for your own PlayStation account, not your public online name. OmniControl is not affiliated with Sony or with PSNTools, which is a separate site.

Or use the script

If the checker cannot find your account, or you would rather sign in with Sony yourself, this script gets the same id on your own PC.

  1. Download the script

Download psn-account-id.py and, if you do not already have it, Python 3. On Windows the script offers to install the one thing it needs the first time you run it.

  2. Sign in to PlayStation

Open the PlayStation sign-in page and sign in with the account you play on. You are signing in directly with Sony.

  3. Copy the redirect address

After you sign in, your browser lands on a blank “redirect” page. Copy that page's whole address from your browser's address bar.

  4. Run the script

Run the script from a terminal: python psn-account-id.py, and paste that address in when it asks. It runs on your own PC.

  5. Paste the id into OmniControl

The script prints your account id. Copy the whole thing, with no spaces, and paste it into the Account id field on OmniControl's Remote Play pairing screen.

You sign in to PlayStation yourself, and OmniControl never sees your password. chiaki, whose open-source script this is, is a separate project not endorsed by Sony.
