v2.9.15 ·

Highlights

  • Xbox: your Xbox console or Xbox Cloud Gaming in Microsoft's own player, inside OmniControl, with your keyboard and mouse.
  • Remote Play screenshots with Ctrl+Shift+S, saved to your Pictures folder.
  • Instant replay: save the last 30 seconds of your stream as a clip with Ctrl+Shift+R, with no loss of quality.
  • A stats badge on the stream: frame rate, delay and video rate at a glance.
  • A desktop shortcut for each console that wakes it and connects in one click.
  • A connection check that says whether Wi-Fi or a cable is slowing your stream, and what to do about it.

Xbox, with your keyboard and mouse

The Remote Play page has a new Xbox card. It opens Microsoft's own Xbox player in a window of OmniControl, so you can stream your Xbox console, or play Xbox Cloud Gaming, right inside the app. You sign in on Microsoft's own page; OmniControl never sees your password.

Turn on Play with keyboard and mouse once the game is running, and your keyboard and mouse drive the controller the player reads. Turn it off, or Alt+Tab, to get your cursor back for the menus.

Remote Play

  • Screenshots. Press Ctrl+Shift+S in the stream, or use the camera button, to save the picture to your Pictures folder, without any of OmniControl's own text on it.
  • Instant replay. Turn it on in the Video settings and press Ctrl+Shift+R to save the last 30 seconds as a clip in your Videos folder. The video is saved exactly as it arrived, with no loss of quality.
  • Stats badge. Press Ctrl+Shift+L to show the frame rate, this PC's delay and the video rate in a corner of the stream.
  • Desktop shortcuts. Each console card can add a shortcut to your desktop that wakes the console and connects in one click.
  • Connection check. In the Connection settings, check whether this PC is on Wi-Fi or a cable, the Wi-Fi band and signal, and get plain advice on what would make the stream smoother.
