A keyboard and mouse overlay built for streaming

OmniControl 3.3 rebuilds the keyboard and mouse overlay. Show your keyboard and the controller it drives in one picture, see what every key does, use any animated theme, and set it all up for OBS with one click.

v3.3.0 ·

Highlights

  • A new keyboard and mouse: real keycaps that light and press down, and a mouse that slides across its mousepad as you move it.
  • Keyboard and controller together: press W and watch the left stick move, in the same shot.
  • Every key says what it does: LS for movement, R2, Cross and the rest, in the words of the controller your game sees.
  • The scroll wheel shows up too, with the direction you scrolled.
  • Every animated theme works on the keyboard, on the case and the mousepad, or right through the keys.
  • Stream layout: one click sets up the whole picture and opens it as its own window for OBS.

The new keyboard and mouse

The keyboard overlay is the picture most people share, so it has been rebuilt from the ground up.

  • Real keycaps. Keys sit on a keyboard case, press down when you press them, and light up in your theme's colour with a soft glow underneath.
  • A real mouse. It sits on its own mousepad, lights the button you click, and slides across the pad in the direction you move it.
  • The scroll wheel. Scroll up or down and the wheel lights with an arrow for the direction.

Keyboard and controller together

Turn on Show the controller too and the overlay draws the controller your game sees above your keyboard. Press W and the left stick moves; click and the trigger pulls. It is the clearest way to show what OmniControl does.

What each key does

Every bound key now shows the controller input it drives: LS with an arrow for movement, R2 or RT for a trigger, and Cross, Circle, Square and Triangle as their shapes on a PlayStation controller. The bound mouse buttons are shown under the mouse, and while the mouse aims, the mousepad says so. Turn it off with What each key does if you want a clean keyboard.

Themes and the case

  • Every animated theme works on the keyboard. With the case on, the theme covers the keyboard case and the mousepad. Turn Keyboard case and mousepad off and the keys float over your game, with the theme glowing through them.
  • Themes that react to your input now react to key presses on the keyboard, starting from the key you pressed.

Stream layout

Click Stream layout in Overlay Studio and everything above is set up at once: keyboard and controller together, the left half of the keyboard so the keys are big enough to read, labels on, and the overlay opened as its own window. Add the OmniControl Overlay window in OBS and you are live. Your theme and the rest of your overlay stay exactly as they were.

Fixes

  • An animated theme on the keyboard no longer stops showing after you switch to a second one.
  • The Holographic and Oil Slick themes now show on the keyboard.
  • A pressed key is readable on themes with a white or light press colour.
