Live picture filters in Remote Play, and a way to remove a paired console
Remote Play gets live brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness filters that apply instantly, and a Remove console option to delete a saved pairing and start over. Windows blocking the Mouse Mute driver now says so plainly, pairing links straight to the account id guide, and Mouse Mute picks up a round of polish on top of last release's fixes.
v2.9.7 ·
Highlights
- Remote Play gets live picture filters: brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness, applied instantly with no reconnect, and a Reset to put them back.
- Remove console: delete a saved PS5 or PS4 pairing from OmniControl and pair it again from scratch, without reinstalling anything.
- When a Windows security policy (Smart App Control, a WDAC policy, or Secure Boot's signing check) blocks the Mouse Mute driver from loading, OmniControl now says exactly that instead of a bare error code.
- Pairing now links straight to a step-by-step guide for finding your PlayStation Network account id.
- Mouse Mute polish: Play tab order is now Emulation, Mouse Mute, Block Keys, Remote Play; the mute toggle stays visible whether it is on or off; boot self-heal is a visible toggle again; and turning Mouse Mute on now names the kernel-driver risk you are accepting.
Live picture filters, while you play
Remote Play's stream can now be adjusted while it plays: brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness, each applying at once with no reconnect. A Reset puts all four back to their defaults.
Remove a console you no longer use
Pairings can pile up if you set up a console once and stop using it. Remove console deletes the saved pairing on this PC; pairing that console again afterwards starts from scratch, the same as the first time.
A clearer answer when Windows blocks the driver
Mouse Mute's driver can be refused by a machine-wide Windows security setting: Smart App Control, a WDAC policy, or Secure Boot's own signing check. OmniControl now recognises this specifically and says so, instead of showing a bare numeric error - it's a Windows decision, not an OmniControl fault, and retrying will not change it.
Finding your account id
Pairing a PS5 or PS4 needs your PlayStation Network account id. That step now links straight to a guide that walks through finding it, rather than just explaining what the id is for.
Mouse Mute polish
On top of last release's driver fixes, Mouse Mute's tab now sits second in Play (Emulation, Mouse Mute, Block Keys, Remote Play), its mute toggle stays visible and readable whether it is on or off, boot self-heal is a visible optional toggle again, and turning Mouse Mute on now names the kernel-driver risk you are accepting rather than a generic confirmation.
