Getting started
OmniControl is a Windows 10/11 desktop app that remaps any controller and presents a virtual Xbox 360 or DualShock 4 to your games. It works with the pads you already own, single-player and controller-friendly games, and includes keyboard-and-mouse input, macros, motion aiming, and a live overlay.
What OmniControl does
You connect a controller, adjust how it behaves, and OmniControl feeds the result to your game as a genuine virtual device. Free covers core remapping and emulation; Pro is a one-time purchase with no subscription.
Anti-cheat boundary
OmniControl is built for single-player and controller-friendly games. It is not a tool for defeating anti-cheat, and kernel-anti-cheat competitive shooters are out of scope. Do not use remapping, emulation, or keyboard-and-mouse input to bypass an anti-cheat system.
The shortest path to playing
Install OmniControl
Run the installer. It sets up OmniControl and the bundled ViGEmBus driver, which lets the app present a virtual pad to your games. See Installation for details.
Connect a controller
Plug in over USB or pair over Bluetooth. OmniControl detects the pad and shows it as a live 3D model. It supports DualSense and DualSense Edge, DualShock 4 and 3, Xbox Series, One, 360, and Elite Series 2, Switch Pro, and generic HID. See Controller setup.
Pick an emulation output
Choose whether the game sees a virtual Xbox 360 or DualShock 4. The game reads a real device, not an injector. See Emulation.
Load a profile
A profile holds your remaps, stick curves, trigger feel, emulation output, and calibration. Add your game in Game Center and its profile loads when the game takes focus, then unloads when you leave.
Tip
No physical pad on hand? Keyboard & mouse mode drives a virtual controller from WASD and your mouse, so games that expect a gamepad still work.
Where to go next
Once you can play, tune the parts that matter to you:
- Sticks & triggers - response curves, deadzones, and trigger travel.
- Motion aiming - gyro aiming, always-on or hold-to-activate.
- Macros - record and bind controller, keyboard, and mouse actions.
- Overlay Studio - a transparent, always-on-top view of your live controller.
- Calibration - measure and store stick and trigger drift per profile.
If something is not behaving as expected, check Troubleshooting or the FAQ. Updates are signed and delivered in-app, so you stay current without a manual download.
