Controller setup

OmniControl works with your controller over USB or Bluetooth. Once the pad is connected, OmniControl detects it automatically and shows it as a live 3D model that responds as you press buttons and move sticks.

Supported controllers

OmniControl recognizes a wide range of pads:

  • DualSense and DualSense Edge
  • DualShock 4 and DualShock 3
  • Xbox Series, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Elite Series 2
  • Switch Pro Controller
  • Generic HID gamepads

Connect over USB

USB is the most complete connection. It carries the full feature set, including the DualSense extras described below.

1

Plug the controller in

Use a data-capable cable, not a charge-only one.
2

Wait for detection

OmniControl picks up the pad and names it. The live 3D model appears on the dashboard.
3

Test it

Press a few buttons and move the sticks. The 3D model mirrors your input in real time.

Connect over Bluetooth

Bluetooth frees you from a cable and is fine for standard remapping and emulation.

1

Put the pad in pairing mode

On DualSense and DualShock 4, hold the PS button and the Share/Create button until the light bar flashes.
2

Pair in Windows

Open Windows Settings, add a Bluetooth device, and select the controller.
3

Confirm in OmniControl

The pad appears with its live 3D model once Windows finishes pairing.

DualSense extras need USB

Adaptive triggers, gyro, the touchpad, and light bar control come over USB only. Connect a DualSense with a cable to use these. See Motion aiming for gyro details.

Confirm the pad is detected

The live 3D model is your quick check that OmniControl sees the controller correctly.

The dashboard shows your connected pad as a 3D model that moves with your input.

If the model does not appear or does not respond, reconnect the cable or re-pair over Bluetooth. For deeper diagnosis, see Troubleshooting.

Next steps

With the pad connected, you can start shaping how it behaves:

  • Remapping - send any button, stick, trigger, or paddle to a different input, key, mouse action, or macro.
  • Emulation - present your pad to a game as a virtual Xbox 360 or DualShock 4 through the ViGEmBus driver, so the game sees a genuine device.

Anti-cheat boundary

OmniControl is built for single-player and controller-friendly games. It is not a tool for defeating anti-cheat. Kernel-level anti-cheat competitive shooters are out of scope, and using OmniControl with them may put your account at risk.
